Outside Crypto.com In their Western Conference first-round series, the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are level at two games each going into Wednesday’s Game 5.

Mavericks are trolling by Arena before Game 5

Before the game, a billboard outside of Crypto.com Arena appeared to be mocking the Mavericks and their supporters.

The Clippers would still need to win Game 6 on Friday (9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN) in order to move on if the Mavericks lose. However, trolling is never too early.

Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN reports that the ad is expected to be removed prior to Game 5.

“The Clippers do not own and run the billboard at L.A. Live. The Clippers released a statement saying, “We have the highest regard for our opponents and in no way endorse this message.”

The 1998-original “Cancun” joke alludes to the place being a getaway spot following a playoff defeat.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ guard Nick Van Exel interrupted a team meeting with a “1-2-3… Cancun!” chant during their Western Conference finals series against the Utah Jazz. The Utah Jazz were about to sweep the Lakers.

With a victory on Wednesday, Dallas will aim to reduce its chances of traveling to Cancun.
